Medication Tips:

1. When in doubt, use weight over age when choosing a dose for your child.

2. Watch concentrations!  Infant drops are always more concentrated, and therefore require less medication.

3. More medicine is not more effective!  Do not give more medication than indicated, and don't give it more often than recommended!

4. Use medication only to treat symptoms that are present and bothersome to the child. When treating fever, do not treat based on the reading only ... fever helps to fight infection, and the goal is to make the child comfortable enough to rest and take fluids, NOT to return the temperature to normal!

5. If you are unsure, please call us. (502-245-7337) Another option is to ask the pharmacist. It is better to be safe than sorry when it comes to medication!
